I checked! I started my December 2020 message with this paragraph – “What a year this has been! Most of us are surely glad to see 2020 come to a close, as we say goodbye to a year that has been far from what we expected!” For many of us … and our neighbors most in need … this sentiment still applies!

The leaves are turning color in earnest, the days and nights are chillier, and Thanksgiving will be upon us on the 25th of this month. There is much to be thankful for – but unfortunately many of our neighbors continue to need our support as we approach the holidays and the winter to come, and we’re still in the grip of COVID-19 stresses! We are excited to share that MUM has been selected as a recipient of two Giant Food initiatives this summer! For the month of August, the Giant Food at 8750 Arliss St. in Silver Spring chose MUM to be the beneficiary of their Community Bag Program. In July, the Giant Food in Wheaton chose MUM as the beneficiary of their Bloomin’ 4 Good Program, which was created to fight hunger in the local community.
