MUM’s Non-Event Annual Fall Fundraiser is Underway!

The MUM 2020 Non-Event Fundraiser of the Year is underway, with a goal of raising $50,000 by Thanksgiving (November 26) 2020. Donate here . Read Executive Director Larry White’s inspiring appeal here.

Please donate! It allows MUM to continue its important work, as the number of neighbors we serve has only increased during the pandemic! What a fitting way to say thanks to outgoing Executive Director Larry White and to welcome incoming Executive Director Dewey Reeves!

Community Thanksgiving Worship Offering Benefits MUM!

This annual service, celebrated by 17 of the religious congregations in the Kensington – North Chevy Chase area, has for many years allowed community members to come together in grateful celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday. This year we will meet virtually, and the offering will benefit MUM.

And Continuing into December… Giving Tuesday is December 1!

As you know, the support of donors like yourselves has allowed MUM to continue to serve our neighbors in need during this COVID-19 pandemic. Although our on-site choice pantry has been closed since March, our Sunday Mobile Pantry sites have continued, and now serve close to three times the number of clients served at this time last year. Other support – eviction prevention, utility assistance and prescription drug assistance – is once again being provided, and we anticipate there will be a need to help many more people in our community than we have in the past as government restrictions preventing evictions and utility cut-offs expire.

Please remember MUM as we celebrate the holiday season by donating on Giving Tuesday.
