MUM Fundraising Initiatives
MUM hosts and participates in a number of annual fundraising events. The proceeds from these events are critical to funding the services we offer to our clients. Below are just some of the events MUM holds each year. Please check our calendar which lists the dates of our events throughout the year.

Annual Fall fundraiser – Fall 2020
MUM's Non-Event Annual Fall Fundraiser is Underway!
The MUM 2020 Non-Event Fundraiser of the Year is underway, with a goal of raising $50,000 by Thanksgiving (November 26) 2020. Donate here. Read Executive Director Larry White's inspiring appeal here.

Stamp Out Hunger – Mother’s Day Weekend in May
Postal carriers collect nonperishable food from your doorsteps for MUM’s clients.
One day a year, homeowners in local zip codes leave nonperishable food outside their homes for letter carriers to collect during their mail delivery. The food is then delivered to the post office, where MUM board members and volunteers pick it up, sort, box and store. These donations replenish MUM’s food pantry that feeds our clients. Look for the postcard and/or plastic bag left by your letter carrier in advance of collection day and leave your food outside your door on a specific Saturday. Your donation will help feed a hungry family.
Taste of Wheaton – Early June
Wheaton, Md. Street Festival
The Taste of Wheaton spotlights the diverse restaurants and businesses of Wheaton. Visit us at our booth where MUM will be selling wine/beer tasting tickets for the event; and let us tell you about all the exciting work MUM is doing in the community.
Kensington Safeway Food Drive – September Labor Day
Labor Day Fall food and cash donation collection
On Labor Day, donate a food item to MUM when you shop at the Safeway located at 10541 Connecticut Ave, Kensington, MD 20895. We will be right outside the store collecting donations, so stop by and learn about MUM’s efforts to feed our neighbors in need. Your donation of food or cash, will help raise funds for our pantry.
