Marlena joined MUM’s Board of Directors in 2023 after volunteering at MUM and gaining a deep appreciation for MUM’s impact in the community. She continues to volunteer at MUM’s office pantry, often working directly with our Spanish-speaking clients. Before retiring, Marlena spent more than a decade as a procurement manager, shared services, at the World Bank. She was also a procurement director, shared services for USF&G Corporation and was purchasing department manager and marketing manager-Latino market at Bell Atlantic Corporation. Marlena has a B.S. degree in chemical engineering and has earned master certificates in procurement and project management among other postgraduate work. Marlena speaks, reads, and writes fluent Spanish.
