MUM is a Partner Agency with Capital Area Food Bank

Since 2011, MUM has been a partner agency with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), the Washington region’s largest nonprofit combating hunger.

Founded in 1980, CAFB annually distributes 42 million pounds of food to more than 500,000 people struggling with hunger. The food bank works through a network that includes MUM as one of 500 partner agencies in the greater Washington region.

MUM continues to ask congregations, schools, civic groups and businesses in Wheaton, Kensington and Aspen Hill for food drives and donations of nonperishable groceries to help fill the shelves at MUM’s pantry in downtown Wheaton. MUM turns to CAFB for discounted food purchases when local donations don’t cover demand for emergency food.
