Please take a moment to take the Montgomery County Food Council Childhood Hunger Survey
At this time of year our thoughts typically turn to the difficulties that cold weather poses for many of our neighbors in need. Those difficulties continue, even as the ongoing stressors of the COVID pandemic also hit families hard!
Although our choice pantry remains closed due to COVID restrictions, MUM continues its mobile food pantries on Sunday afternoons. Our help to people in crisis in the Silver Spring, Wheaton, Kensington, Rockville and Aspen Hill communities (zip codes 20902, 20906, 20895, 20896 and 20853) also continues with medicine, eviction prevention and utilities.
Our Sunday Mobile Pantry Sites ( English or Spanish) have been serving more neighbors than ever since COVID began! Mobile Pantry hours are 2pm – 4pm. In case of inclement weather on a Mobile Pantry Sunday please call 301-929-8675 for updates.
Appointments for assistance with eviction, utilities, and prescription drugs can be made by contacting the MUM office by telephone at 301-929-8675, by fax at 301-929-8234, or by email at email@example.com.
See our “Additional Resources” [https://mumhelp.org/additional-resources/] page for information about programs and assistance available outside of MUM.
MUM’s capacity to provide services depends on your help!
Our thanks to FAsMarketplace in Wheaton, which recently sponsored its annual Hair-Cut-A-Thon to raise money and donations for MUM! This event raised $300.05 in cash, as well as $261.75 in merchandise donated through MUM’s Amazon wish list. See how some of our neighbors celebrated this event through these videos.
Giving to MUM is easy! Please consider helping now to allow MUM to continue its work!
